Tomytec trams and tram track
Tomytec is producing a selection of models under the label "Tetsudo Collection" which you can upgrade to fully working models by attaching motorized chassis. Apart from models after rural prototypes the main focus is on tram models.
The models feature an excellent level of detailing and printing, and are being delivered as display models. By using the matching chassis you can get a fully working model, with the advantage that you can use a chassis for many different models simply by exchanging the body shells. Changing the shells doesn´t require any tools or technical skills.
In addition to the trams the Tomix Finetrack track-system includes a range of tram track pieces with street elements. These tracks are presently available with three different radia and several straights with different lenghts. The system will be expanded. The tram track also matches with the road elements of the Tomytec Bus System.
Models
All Tetsudo Collection vehicles and trams ar completely assembled and decorated. Depending on the models they have fixed or movable wheels. The motorized chassis are equipped with one or more flywheels, 5-pole-motors and power pickup with all axles. They can move through 10cm radius curves.
The Tomix tram track has Code 80 track (profile height 2,03mm), the total height is 6mm, the track distance and width of the roadbed (including the road elements) is 37mm. A clip connection inside the roadbed secures the track connection, even when the track is being used "loose". Because of the profile height and rail joiners the track works with most common N gauge track systems.
